Save Live Photos As Videos
/In a previous blog post, I covered how to extract one or more still images from a Live Photo on your iPhone/iPad and explained why it's good to know how to do this...sometimes you may find a Live Photo captured an expression (a frame) that you prefer over the original still image you took.
To recap how to take Live Photos, click here. Below I show you how to save existing Live Photos as videos. This is good to know as Live Photos sometimes surprise us with adorable moments that deserve being upgraded to video status. Once a Live Photo is saved as a video you'll find it under both albums: Live Photos and Videos. You may or may not need both files, so if you are deleting the Live Photo, remember to extract any still images before deleting.
If you're creating a video montage to share a story or celebrate a special occasion, you can now include this newly saved video file.
iPhone/iPad
Software Version iOS 13 or newer
Locate the Live Photo in the PHOTOS app
Tap the Share icon
Scroll down to view options, then tap SAVE AS VIDEO
Note: The newly saved video will be saved in the VIDEOS album. The original Live Photo is still saved in the LIVE PHOTOS album.
